Sophie has been performing since forever and has a Media Arts and Production degree from the University of Technology. Her first year short documentary 'Shanghai's Child' was nominated for the UTS Golden Eye Award for Best Documentary. Sophie's directorial debut film 'Fenced' was completed in 2016 in association with UTS. ‘Fenced’ premiered at St Kilda Film Festival and won the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) #SocialShorts Drama competition. Her film 'Monsters' had its world premiere at Flickerfest 2019 in competition.

Sophie has directed three music videos for POST, Wax Ecstatic and SuAnn. 


Sophie is passionate about using film to deal with big topics and is drawn to human stories as well as a touch of Australiana comedy.

She is currently in pre-production on a short about teenage girls getting their periods for the first time. She is developing a series about a high school program for troubled kids that opens in a retirement village and a webseries about a young couple grappling with the diagnosis of their unborn child with Down Syndrome.
