Kate Myers drives through the gates of the Portsmouth Immigration Detention Centre at the end of each day as a SARCO guard. It’s just a job. And a job she needs. Determined to not let herself get caught up in the politics of the place, suddenly Kate’s world cracks. Kate sees the humanity in the clients of her workplace. Maybe she’s not as good at turning a blind eye as she always thought. Maybe she can’t just leave the work at work. And maybe the line between mother and guard has begun to blur.

Fenced tackles the very real impact of onshore immigration detention centres, starring Australian actors Claire Lovering, Aaron Tsindos, Terry Bader and Ruby Burke.
