Reviews of 'Ellie, Abbie (& Ellie's Dead Aunt)'
"Appropriately, leading lady Sophie Hawkshaw is strongest of the cast, with a natural charm that endears Ellie to her audience from the very beginning. It is a gentle performance that feels effortless, but one that is surprisingly convincing. Hawkshaw makes us want the best for Ellie, and it is this emotional investment she elicits that keeps us engaged to the end." - SuzyGoSee
"Sophie Hawkshaw is brilliant as the charming Ellie and is so believable to the point that I wonder how much of the character is her. Because of her effortlessness we automatically fall in love with the school captain who's little awkward around the edges." - Sydney Scoop
"Sophie Hawkshaw is a stand out. Ellie’s awkwardness is balanced with a sometimes, calm assurance wrapped up in teenage innocence. It is a detailed, complex performance." - Talking Arts
"There is an excellent ensemble cast, and Sophie Hawkshaw as Ellie gives an engaging performance playing the character who is the strong and vital lynchpin around which the narrative unfolds." - Sydney Arts Guide
"A shout out to Zanetti’s great cast who support the shows concepts admirably. Particularly the two young female leads, Sophie Hawkshaw and Geraldine Viswanathan who carry the show admirably on their shoulders. The warmth and genuine engagement of the cast bring the best of the show to the fore and the audience is left with a joyful engagement with at times, very sensitive subject matter." - Lisa Thatcher
